Recital is fast approaching and we are excited to announce that this year we will be adding a 4th FANTASTIC RECITAL! We have added a Thursday evening performance. Thank you to all of our wonderful Juliart families for helping us continue to grow every year!
Listed below are several important items regarding our upcoming shows. Please take a moment to review this information and stop at the desk if you have any questions.
Recital Dates, Times, & Location: All recitals are held at Avondale High School located at 2800 Waukegan St. in Auburn Hills. Our Thursday, June 15th evening show will begin at 7:00 p.m., the Friday, June 16th evening show will begin at 7:00 p.m., the Saturday, June 17th matinee will begin at 1:00 p.m., and our Saturday, June 17th evening performance is at 6:00 p.m. We have mandatory dress rehearsal on June 14th and the schedules is listed above. Our dress rehearsal is also held at Avondale High School. Schedules for both dress rehearsal and recitals can be found here.
Recital Tickets: We will once again be selling our recital tickets online through tututix.com and a link on our website juliartdance.com. Tickets will only be available for purchase online; you will not be able to purchase tickets at the desk. Tickets for the Thursday performance will be on sale May 1st, tickets for the Friday performance will be on sale May 2nd, tickets for the matinee will be on sale May 3rd, and tickets for the Saturday evening show will be on sale May 4th. Further information will be given in class and via email as these dates approach. (Please stop by the desk to confirm your email address if you have not received emails from us recently.
Recital Volunteers: Volunteers are an integral part of our show. We need volunteer help to supervise backstage as well as usher and help in the auditorium. A volunteer sign- up sheet will be available at the desk. (Volunteers are needed for the entirety of the show that they volunteer for and are not required to purchase a ticket.) Please consider helping to make our show one we can be proud of!
Recital Costumes: Students have begun receiving their recital costumes in class. Please note, that while we do measure each student individually for their costume, these costumes are not custom made. Students fall into a range of sizes based upon their measurements and these ranges are different for each company. We choose to order costumes from several different companies who in the past have sent us a reliable product. If alterations are needed, those are the responsibility of each family.
Recital Tights: We spend many hours working with our students to dance as one and in an effort to carry that unified effort onto the stage, we require that all dancers performing in recital have the same tights. We will be selling the required tights at the desk and they will be available after we return from spring break. The cost is $10 for child sizes and $12 for adult sizes. (Special order tights such as fishnets or footless styles may be more.)
Picture Week: Picture week is May 15 through May 20. Memory Makers will be at the studio to take group pictures during the student’s regular class time. Individual pictures will also be taken at this time. Order forms will be available at the desk as picture week approaches. Students will come to class in their costumes during picture week.
Trophy’s: Has your child danced at Juliart for 5, 10, or 15 consecutive years at Juliart?? Please stop by the desk to sign them up for their trophy!
Juliart Dancing Dads: DADS!! We are looking for you… Every year one of the funnest parts of our show is our dancing dads. If you’d like to participate, please sign up at the desk. Rehearsals are held on Saturday mornings and begin in May.
